What is Your Favorite Pearl Jam Song?

A Note from a fan - after listening PJ songs everyday for more than 14 years

Every now and then, in some discussion forums or mailing lists of Pearl Jam fans, there will this question: "what is your favorite pearl jam song?" Usually I don't think it too much; I just put Black, Alive, Yellow Ledbetter and Lukin (live version). But lately, while, I am waiting for the new Pearl Jam album, I realized that everytime I put my PJ favorite songs, my list always changes.

Am I not consistent? Maybe.

But I think the answer is because I listen to PJ songs everyday. Sometime I listen to bootlegs and like songs like Lukin, Crazy Mary, Baba O'Reily, Daughter (any long version with various tags) and I will put those songs as my favorite songs. Sometime I listen to the albums and listening to songs like Low Light, Garden, Nothing as It Seems, Bugs...and I will put them on my fave list.

So, for me Pearl Jam has given me many songs to be listen for more than 14 years and I've never fed up.

My girlfriend think I am crazy. As a man in my age, she think I am so childish to collect things related to PJ; postcard, stickers, shirts. She could not stand if I play PJ in my car's stereo. Except on Benaroya CD, she finally said that the songs are "ok".

Back in 92, I have lots of friends who like PJ. Now, it is difficult to find...

But it's not long til I found a mailing list of Indonesian PJ's fans. I thought I were a diehard PJ fan. No, I am NOT. There are bunch of real deal in the list. At least two fans know everything about Pearl Jam, maybe they know more about Jeff Ament than Jeff know himself. These fans have TONS of PJ related materials..and compare to theirs what I am collecting until now is almost nothing.

These are the fans who not only listen to PJ, but who share the spirit that we learn from PJ members. We are so proud of what PJ has taken so far. Or at least we are in the same spirit that we want PJ to play in Indonesia... Last September, because the thirst to hear live PJ songs, the Indonesian PJ fans conducted what we called PJ Nite, a parade of bands covered PJ songs. And it rocks so hard...don't think that the bands only cover songs like Jeremy or Last Kiss, but also songs like Breath and Glorified G!!! (When I got movie clips, I will share them here).

So, here I am...thinking about my favorite PJ songs..and I know my answers will always be different.
